More than a decade has passed since the events of September 11th, 2001 shocked the world. The ensuing global reaction redefined the field of international relations. Now, with the conclusion of the war in Iraq and the pending reduction of troops in Afghanistan, the international response to terrorism appears to be shifting into a different era.
As policymakers, scholars, and heads of state have been forced to address terrorism as part of an evolving global vulnerability, we must assess both the causes of terrorist activity and the legitimacy of measures taken to counteract it.
Join the International Relations Society on January 21 as we host policy experts from across Canada to debate the political, legal, and economic facets of terrorism and its counter-measures.
FEATURING: Michel Juneau-Katsuya, Arne Kislenko, Stewart Bell, Jean-Yves Haine, John Duncan, Don Macnamara, Khalid Mustafa Medani, Kent Roach.
